Alverda R. Nardella, 94, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at the Presbyterian Village in Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Laganella) Sabatino. She later married Michael A. Nardella and he preceded her in death in 1989.
She is survived by two sons: Stephen J. (Dianna) Nardella, of Gaithersburg MD., and Joseph N. (Emily) Nardella, of Mechanicsburg; and 5 grandchildren: Benjamin (Meaghan) Nardella, Andrew Nardella, Charles Nardella, Meghan Nardella, and Kathryn Nardella.
Alverda was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Nardella Jr.
She was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School. She enjoyed cooking, and entertaining. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Alverda was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
