Anthony L. Mirante Jr.

Anthony L. Mirante Jr., 84, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Thursday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Anthony Sr. and Anna (Corso) Mirante.

He is survived by two nephews: Stephen Nitti and Louis Nitti; and a niece, Andrea Collesano.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Patricia Nitti and Gloria Mirante.

Anthony was an Altoona High School graduate and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State University. He was a social worker in the welfare office.

He served for 4 years in the United States Air Force in Lake Charles, LA.

Anthony enjoyed auctions, Indy car races, picking strawberries, and football, especially Penn State.

Friends will be received from 4-6pm Monday, June 6, 2022 in the Santella Funeral Home. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in the Santella Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
