Arthur Wascher Obituary

Arthur L. Wascher, 64, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Sunday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Albuquerque, N.M., son of Virginia M. (Hunt) Wascher and the late Arthur Wascher. He married Margot I. Blum on May 23, 2008.

Surviving are his wife; two stepchildren: Ilona Cockerham of Altoona and Robert Kocsis in Germany; his mother of San Diego, Calif.; and two siblings: Virginia Smith and Michael, both of San Diego.

Arthur served in the U.S. Army as a specialist five from 1968-78. He worked for Maxwell Transportation as a school van driver for the handicapped. He enjoyed building model speedboats.

Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service with military honors Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Santella Funeral Home, the Rev. Barry R. Folmar officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
