Barbara J. Kauffman

Barbara J. Kauffman, 83, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at Colonial Courtyard in Tyrone. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Harold and Sue (Fasano) Miller. She married the love of her life, Charles Kenneth Kauffman, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2010.

She is survived by two daughters: Karen Mercer and Mary Ann (Gregory) Gochnaur; 4 grandchildren: Dan, Erik, Grant and Olivia; 2 great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Lorlaie; two siblings: Dorothy Gochnaur and Harold (Paula) Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was an Altoona High School graduate. Although Barbara worked her whole life, she always said her most important job was being a good wife and mother.

We are forever grateful for her love and guidance.

She was a member of St. Conrad’s Church in Michigan and St. Mark’s Church in Altoona.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or services. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
