Charles M. Chestney, 90, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday at the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home. He was born in East Juniata, son of the late William and Mabel Elizabeth (Flood) Charles married Rita Mae Habascvich on October 25, 1951. His beloved wife preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 2006.
He is survived by two daughters: Debra E. Chestney and Victoria L. Noel; two granddaughters: Jennifer Noel and Krista Lang; three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter and one great great granddaughter..
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Giansante Toner; and a brother, William E. Chestney Jr.
Charles was a veteran of the US Air Force and after being honorably discharged, he spent his career dedicated to working for the Pennsylvania Railroad and retired from Conrail as a Yardmaster.
Charles enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and watching the Steelers and Penn State football.
At the request of the family, there will be no viewing. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Saint Joseph’s in Bellwood Pa. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
