Charles B. “Charlie” Ebersole
Aug. 24, 1944 - Aug. 20, 2024

Charles B. “Charlie” Ebersole, 79, Altoona, passed away peacefully Tuesday Aug. 20, 2024 at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John L. Ebersole and Bernice (Swartz) Rose. On Feb. 26, 1977, he married Sharon Westover.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; 4 children: Tracy (Doug) Hoffman, Jason (Amy) Ebersole, William (Rebecca) Ebersole and Thad (Beth) Ebersole; 12 grandchildren: Chelsea (Chooch) McDonald, Cody Hoffman, Haley Ebersole, Carly Ebersole, Charley Hoffman, Connor Ebersole, Zachary Ebersole, Nathan Ebersole, Brayden Ebersole, Benjamin Ebersole, Abbey Ebersole and Madeleine Ebersole; sister, Margaret “Peg” Ebersole; brother, John (Janice) Ebersole; step brothers: David (Cathy) Rose, Chester J. (Faye) Rose and Norman (Charlotte) Hatfield; and his fur kids: Cupcake, Emmett and Larry.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; and step-father, Chester D. Rose.

He was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School and worked at 1st National Bank as a teller and bank manager.

Charlie spent 16 years in the Army Reserves.

 He later followed his passion for buying and selling cars, which led him to open Ebersole Auto Sales in Altoona.

He enjoyed golf, traveling with his wife, eating out at all of their favorite restaurants and spending time with his family.

Charlie had a big heart and would always try to help anyone he could.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2pm-5pm Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the Altoona Masonic Lodge, 600 Jackson Ave.
