Charles R. McCord

Charles R. McCord, 79, Altoona, passed away Sunday at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Baltimore, son of the late Charles and Marie (Jancie) McCord. In 1982, he married Vicki McCord and she preceded him in death on Oct. 6, 2024.

He is survived by his 3 daughters: Amber McCord, Mikayla McCord and Molly McCord; a son, Michael (Jen) McCord; 3 grandchildren: Taylor, Michael Jr. and Cara; 5 siblings: Malcolm (Jean) McCord, Jackie Bouchard, Brian (Joyce) McCord, Sara Jane Kuhn and Lawrence McCord; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School and served in the United States Army Reserves. He later retired as a van driver for Maxwell Transit in the Altoona and Martinsburg areas.

He enjoyed hunting and shooting, especially Turkey shoots. He also loved his cars and Western shows.

Friends will be received at the 11 am funeral Mass on Friday, August 8, 2025 at St. Michael’s Church, 301 Spruce St. Hollidaysburg. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
