Christine N. Liebal

Heaven has gained another smiling soul. Christine Nora Liebal passed away at her home surrounded by love and prayers on June 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy Liebal, brother Charles Liebal and sisters: Mary Liebal and Patsy (Jim) Snead.

She is survived by her very special twin brother and wife, George and Jeanne Liebal, beloved (and perfect partner in crime) sister, Helen Liebal; cherished cousin, Mary McGregor (Ken) and dear sister in law, Carmella Liebal, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends- all who adored her more than she could know.

She graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School in 1965 and retired from Verizon after decades as a maintenance administrator. She would share the funniest stories from those times, especially how she told the crewmen where to go. Christine loved helping others. She enjoyed volunteering at the St Michael’s picnic and belonged to the Hollidaysburg Art Council, where she particularly loved the polka event. And she cooked like no other.

She loved anything involving food and especially enjoyed entertaining family and friends. In the fall, she and her sisters could always be found cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers with a martini in her hand (and maybe a Polamalu wig on her head). She lived with flair and zest. She was blessed to travel to Germany with her dear friend, Rita, and was delighted to have gambled in Vegas. She tickled them all by dressing as Sophie Tucker for the big Y2K party.

Her laugh was contagious and her love was endless. We will forever cherish all she has shared with us - her recipes, her great attitude, her zest for living, her strong faith, her great devotion to family- including her fur babies, Sophie and Marti. We all were privileged to have been loved by her. She was happiest

when we were all together acting silly. She was always up to do anything, especially dining with family and friends. To have known her is to have laughed with her. Now nothing will hold her back in her heavenly home where her sisters and brother are welcoming her with loving hearts, a martini, cards shuffling and of course, fantastic food.

Christine was a longtime member of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.

Friends will be received from 10am until the 11am Funeral Mass on Monday, June 27, 2022 at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg PA, with Father Alan Thomas officiating. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
