Darlene F. DePiro

Darlene F. DePiro, 65, Altoona, passed away Wednesday evening, October 19th 2022 at her home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Frank and Eugenia (Coccarella) DePiro.

She was married to her husband, Michael Walters, who she met November 6th, 1983.

Surviving are her loving husband; a son, Michael A. DePiro-Walters (Tyler), and a daughter Jolene K. DePiro-Walters (Anthony); two grandchildren, Uriah and Ellianna; and a sister, Mary Jane (DePiro) Freidenbloom,  all from Altoona. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Joseph Giovinazzo; and a sister Elaine DePiro.

Darlene was a 1975 graduate of Altoona High school. She went on to beauty school and became a licensed cosmetologist, and she owned her own shop, “Darlene’s Cut and Style.”

Darlene was a free-spirit. She enjoyed sharing a good cup of hot tea with her best friend, and surrounding herself with her family and loved ones. 

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Friends will be received from 9am to 10:30am Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 at the Santella Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated following the visitation at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
