Darlene L. Negri, 87, of Altoona, Pennsylvania, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 11, 2026, surrounded by her family at Lorien Columbia Nursing Home in Columbia, Maryland.
Darlene was born on September 17, 1938, in Harrisburg, PA., to the late Theresa (Tezak) and Thomas E. Hoffman.
In addition to her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, John M. Negri, Sr., who passed in 2019, her siblings; Thomas Hoffman, Ronald Hoffman, and a son in law, Walter Figaniak.
Darlene is survived by her loving children; John (Judy) Negri, Jr., Michelle Figaniak, Theresa (Emory) Gargon, her brother, Robert Hoffman, six grandchildren; Andrew, Alexandra, Victoria, Nicholas, John III and Tyler, and 11 great grandchildren, Gianna, Fordham, Vivianne, Case, Emma, Talley, Elliot, Adelyn, Elsie, Ozzy, and Evelyn.
Darlene was Catholic by faith and a member at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Altoona. She married her husband John at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on February 16, 1956. Darlene was a homemaker, an excellent cook and baker. She loved to crochet blankets for everyone and was a skilled seamstress.
A Funeral Mass will be held privately with the family with Interment following at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be sent in Darlene’s Name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
