Donna Lee Harvey, 75, of Kitzmiller, passed away at UPMC Altoona on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023.
Born in Keyser, W.Va. on June 7, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Harold “Hoss” and Frances “Frankie” Metz of Rawlings.
As a young girl, she worked at her parents' gas station and grocery store in Rawlings and later worked at their bowling alley in Barton.
She was a 1965 graduate of Valley High School.
She married James Harvey on Sept. 11, 1966. Donna loved her family, cats and flowers and was a devoted wife. She did everything that her husband did, including coon hunting, running a trap line and ginseng hunting. Later in life, she went to work side by side with her husband in the carpentry business and became what her husband referred to as “one of the best cut men out there.”
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Harvey; one son, Jimmy and wife Leslie Harvey; granddaughter, Brittany and husband Alex Green and grandson, Travis Harvey. She is also survived by her brother, Tarzan and wife Brenda Metz and her brother, Johnny Metz, along with her brother-in-law, Tom and wife Sharon Harvey. Extended family includes Emily, Dustin, Chelsie, Tucker and Travis Williams; and special friend, Anita Beeman Russell; and her beloved cat, Miss Wiggles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Frances Metz; father- and mother-in-law, James and Stella Harvey; and one brother, Timmie Metz.
A celebration of her life will be held on a later date. Arrangements by Santella Funeral Home, Altoona Pa.
