Dorothy E. "Doll" (Moschella) Kitt

Dorothy E. "Doll" (Moschella) Kitt, 64, of Altoona, peacefully passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Michael F. and Barbara A. (McFarland) Moschella.

Dorothy was a proud graduate of Altoona Area High School, class of 1978, and later earned her degree from the Altoona School of Commerce in 1980. She dedicated 35 years of her career to UPMC Altoona as a Medical Secretary before retiring in 2022.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Barton M. Kitt; her two children: Justin Barr (Kelly) and their children: Felicity, Fiona and Archer, and Joshua Barr (Aiden); her stepson, Barton J. Kitt (Randi) and their son: Kingston; her brother, Michael Moschella (Melody); her sister, Misty Moschella; and her niece, Stefani McCarthy (Christopher) and their children: Isabelle and Dominic.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Donna Harding, Peenie Morgan and Robert Moschella.

Dorothy had a passion for Steelers and Penn State football and enjoyed bowling and nights out with her girls. Above all else, she cherished spending time with her family and her grandchildren, as well as her beloved dog, Bailey, and cat, Diego.

Dorothy’s warmth and devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at Santella Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at Axe & Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona.
