Edna Jeane High, 86, Altoona, passed away Monday at Hilltop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Raymond and Jennie (Orr) Morrison.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kathryn High; two daughters, Sherry (Bob) Taylor and Cherry Moore; four grandsons: Joseph (Aimee) High, Joshua (Courtny) High, Jacob (Meghan) High and Adam Taylor; two granddaughters, Sarah (Logan) Timmons and Hannah Slayton; eight great-grandchildren: Makaylyn (Brett) Alley, Kaelyn High, Kody High, Carson High, Gabriella High, Jackson Timmons, Laura Timmons and Alexander Timmons; and two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Rithamel and Sutton Alley.
Edna was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Morrison; an infant daughter, Carinne High; and a son, James High.
Edna was a 1956 graduate of Altoona High School and later retired from the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home in the laundry department.
She was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society and Red Hats.
She enjoyed years with her son, Jim’s bands and friends. She also loved her animals and volunteering at the Humane Society.
Friends will be received from 4 until the 6 p.m. funeral service Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at Santella Funeral Home. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
