Edward Manna Obituary

Edward W. Manna, 67 of Altoona passed away Friday Aug. 28, 2015 at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Beaver Falls, Pa son of the late Frank and Concetta (DePitro) Manna.

He is survived by two sisters: Verna Lardieri of Hollidaysburg and Bonita Pacovsky and husband Stanley of Altoona. Two Brothers: Joe Manna of Florida and Ted Manna of Hollidaysburg; His best friend: Henry Burnett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Walko and his brothers John, Frank, Nick, Billy, and Tullio.

Ed was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War.

He previously worked as a Custodian for Hayes Large Architects, LLC

Ed was very active with VFW Post 3 where he served as past Post Commander. He was one of the charter members of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 967. He was a member of the American Legion, Catholic War Vets, Cesare Battisti Club, Buccinese Club, Swiss Rifle Club, UVA, Heidelberg Country Club, Bavarian Aid Society, and the Fraternal Order of Clubs where he served as past President. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received from 10:30 am until the 11:30 am funeral service on Saturday September 12, 2015 at the Axe and Santella Family Chapel 1534-4th St. Altoona,Pa 16601 with full military honors to follow. A luncheon will be held at the Catholic War Vets 290 Valley Ave, Altoona, PA 16601 following the services. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to a memorial fund for Ed C/O Verna Lardieri and sent to First National Bank 224 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648
