Eleanor J. Robinson, of Altoona, PA, passed away on March 4, 2024, at the age of 91, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Florida. Born on April 21, 1932, in Altoona, she was the daughter of Peter and Philomena (Capuzzi) McGarvey. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John L. Robinson, in 1993.
Eleanor is survived by her two daughters, Linda (David) Clapp of Florida, and Kara Robinson of Oregon, as well as her two sons, John L. "Buzz" (Francine) Robinson Jr. and Christopher Robinson, both of Altoona; four grandchildren: Daniel Martino Jr. and Jennifer Grove, both of Florida, Keri Snyder of New York, and Jennifer Erb, of Maryland; along with her three great-grandchildren: Haley and Hannah Grove of Florida, and Elena Erb of Maryland.
A loving homemaker, Eleanor enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners, making her homemade pasta and sauce, and spending time with her Grandchildren. She loved good music, Chris Botti and Joe Bonamassa being two of her favorites, listening and dancing along while cooking up delicious meals for her family. She was an avid reader of the New York Times and regularly completed the NY Times Crosswords. She enjoyed traveling, and especially her winters spent in Florida.
Eleanor was a loving, fun, funny, intelligent, and sassy Mother and Grandmother and her conversations and laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
A private viewing will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the 10:30am funeral Mass on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Eleanor will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
