Esther J. (Colombo) McLucas

Esther J. McLucas, 95, Hollidaysburg, earned her angel wings when she passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Cesare and Philomena (Langanella) Colombo. On April 22, 1950, she married John P. McLucas in Altoona.

She is survived by her husband, and love of her life for over 70 years, John; a son, John M. McLucas and wife, Juanita (Glover), of Altoona; two grandchildren: Michael J. McLucas, of Hollidaysburg, and Autumn J. McLucas, of Altoona; and a brother, Michael Colombo.

She was preceded in death by nine siblings: Helen Colombo, Mary Colombo, Pauline Casciotti, Ann Nardelli, Peggy Petta, Yolanda Fusco, and Ernest, Joseph, and Andy Colombo.

Esther was employed by Boyer Candy Company before becoming a homemaker. She loved cooking Italian dishes and having a house full of family and friends. She also loved watching the Steelers, especially Troy Polamalu. Her day was complete when her dog, J.P., would sit on her lap for hours.

Esther was a long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Wednesday March 31, 2021 in the Santella Funeral Home. Due to Holy Week, no Mass will be held, but a funeral service will be held at 10am, Thursday, April 1, 2021 in the Santella Funeral Home with committal at Calvary Cemetery.

The family asks that those in attendance follow the CDC guidelines regarding the wearing of masks and social distancing.
