Frank V. Roscia, 102 of Altoona, Pennsylvania entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Frank was born in Altoona, PA., on August 9, 1922, the son of the late Concetta (Carnicella) and Pietro Roscia. On October 21, 1944 he married Katherine “Kay” Bellacero.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his loving siblings: Anna, Josephine, Anthony and John Roscia; a son-in-law David Bell; a great grandson, Hudson Roscia; and a great granddaughter, Jacelynn Lauritsen.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 80 years, Kay Roscia, as well as his daughters, Patricia Bell, of Altoona and Roseann (Tim) Madden, of Hollidaysburg; a son, Peter (Yamila) Roscia of Miami Lakes, Florida; his 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Frank was Catholic by faith and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Frank was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a painter in 1981, after 41 years of service. Frank was also a member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight, Friends of the Irish, The Bavarian Club, The Holy Name Society, as well as the former Notre Dame Club.
Frank was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed the Steelers and Penn State football, Pirates and Altoona Curve baseball. He also enjoyed playing pinochle and family gatherings.
Friends will be received on Monday, June 30, 2025 from 4PM until 7PM in the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with committal at Calvary Cemetery.
