George Lepore Obituary

George D. Lepore, 73, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late George E. and Jean (Myers) Lepore. He later married Delores Vellone.

He is survived by his loving wife; two daughters: Michele Lepore and Jennifer Lepore; and a grandson: Brayden Harbaugh.

George was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Daniel and Gary; and a sister, Patricia Faust.

George was a 1966 Altoona High School graduate and later received an Associate’s degree in accounting from the Pennsylvania State University. He was employed by AVCO Financial Services for most of his career. He served as a Sergeant in the 62nd Artillery of the U.S. Army.

He enjoyed golfing and watching his grandson play baseball and was an avid Steelers fan. He was a member of the Boys Club of America, Swiss Club, and Park Hills Country Club.

He was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Friday December 17, 2021 in the Santella Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
