Gina Romani Obituary

Gina M. Romani, 90, Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Antonio and Vincenza (Agati) Aveni. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony R. Romani, whom she married on July 26, 1958 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Altoona. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1977.

She is survived by a son, Anthony R. Romani II; two grandchildren: Chasey Romani and Anthony Romani III; and two great-grandchildren: Rocky and Omari.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Aveni; and 4 sisters: Margaret Nardelli, Helen McCulley, Antoinette DiFlaviano, and Adeline Raynor.

Gina was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. For 23 years she was the President and CEO of Anthonio’s Manufacturing and Ajax Comb Company. She also enjoyed cooking and sewing.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and was a part of the choir for 60 years.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021 in the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with committal at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Gina’s name to the Mount Carmel Organ Fund, 806-11th St. Altoona PA 16602.
