Harry A. “Turk” Turchetta, 76, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Harry L. and Carmel (Iannone) Turchetta. In 1970, he married Patricia “Trisha” Russino at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Trisha; a daughter, Ginamarie “Dolly” (Scott) Miller; a son, Anthony “Butch” (Casey) Turchetta; 3 grandchildren: Logan Rosa Turchetta, Mallory Broadwell and Carly Broadwell; and a brother, Larry Turchetta.
Turk was an Altoona High school graduate and worked a number of jobs before retiring from Penelec. He also served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.
He loved spending time outdoors; hunting, landscaping, and doing odd jobs around the house. He was also an avid sports fan with a love of Pirates baseball, the Steelers, and Penn State.
Harry was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
At the request of the deceased, services are being held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
