Helen Caporuscio, 92, Duncansville, passed away Thursday at Elmcroft Senior Living. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Luigi and Rosalbina (Moschella) DiNicola. On April 10, 1948 she married Harry “Cappy” Caporuscio at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2009.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Albert, Victor and Bennie; and her sisters: Virginia Roberts and Minnie Quintilli; granddaughter, Mary Lipple; and an infant grandson.
She is survived by two sons: Harry L. (Liz) Caporuscio, of South Carolina, and Philip A. Caporuscio, of Altoona; three daughters: JoAnne (Tom) Lipple, of Altoona, Anne (Tony) Skerl, of Massachusetts, and Carolyn Caporuscio, of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Niece, Bonnie Clouse and nephew, Brady Dodson and Leonard Esposti held a very special place in her heart for their kindness, generosity and frequent visits during her stay at Elmcroft.
She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penquins and Penn State Football. Spending time at the beach, gardening, and spending time with friends and family were some of her favorite past times. Anyone who knew her appreciated her unique wit and humor. She was a good friend to many and loved by all.
The family has requested a private, socially distanced viewing due to current Covid concerns. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
