Isabelle V. Nardelli, 79, Pittsburgh, passed away Friday afternoon at UPMC Altoona. Born in Altoona to the late James and Margaret (Aveni) Nardelli, she enjoyed living the last 50 years in Pittsburgh.
She is survived by her two brothers: James (Bonnie) Nardelli and Mark (Teri) Nardelli; and 4 nieces and nephews: Nicholas, Nathaniel (Brittany), Natalie (Matt) Yahner, and Alex (Jackie).
She was preceded in death by several aunts (her mother Margaret’s sisters) that she was deeply fond of which included Gina Romani, Toni DiFlaviano, Helen McCulley and Adeline Raynor.
Isabelle was a 1964 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle and later graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She started her career decorating display windows for Gables store in Altoona and then Gimbels store in Pittsburgh. She was a major contributor to Egypt Hall and Native American Hall at Carnegie Museum and has her name shown even today as a key contributor to these exhibits, one of only a few.
Isabelle never married or had children of her own, but her nieces and nephews were the greatest blessings in her life. They will all miss her dearly.
Friends will be received from 4pm to 7pm, today, Monday, June 15, 2026 at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am, Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with committal at Calvary Cemetery.
