Jack Miraglia Obituary

Jack J. Miraglia, 82, of Duncansville passed away Friday at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Altoona, son of Santos and Maria (Caccie) Miraglia. He married Patricia Sponsler, who preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 2004.

He is survived by seven children: Debbie Dean in Delaware, Beverly Granata in Pittsburgh, Lee Ann Ebersole, Julie Somerton and Phillip Somerton, all of Altoona, Maria Miraglia in Ohio and John Miraglia in Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Carles of Bellwood.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Domenick Miraglia; and sisters: Gracie Porzio and Ina Grove.

Jack was a member of The United Church of Christ.

He was a graduate of Altoona High School.

Jack retired as a van driver from Home Nursing Agency.

He enjoyed playing cards and watching football. Jack volunteered at the Church of Christ Food Bank.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 27, 2015, at the Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, 1520 Fourth St., Altoona. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, by Pastor John Bonebreak at the Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
