Janet L. (Zimmerman) Stevens

Janet L. (Zimmerman) Stevens, 84, of Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Ralph Sr. and Violet (Poorman) Zimmerman.

She is survived by her daughter, Autumn (Deborah Massie) Stevens; a daughter-in-law, Michele; 4 grandchildren: Danielle and Caleb Stevens, of Bellwood, and Mike and Jodi Massie, of MI; 9 great-grandchildren: 1 great-great grandchild; and a brother, John (Marcia) Zimmerman.

Janet was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Stevens; a great-grandson, Braden Stevens; a niece, Lori Zimmerman; and most recently her eldest son, William “Wild Bill” Stevens, just two days after her passing.

Janet was a 1955 Altoona High School graduate. She worked for the Altoona Police Department dispatch and later retired from Skills as a group home manager.

She previously attended the Church of Latter Day Saints.

Janet enjoyed Hallmark movies, crafting and crocheting.

Friends will be received from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 in the Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534-4th St. Altoona. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021 in the Axe and Santella Family Chapel. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.

At the request of the family, masks are asked to be worn during the visitation and service.
