Jeanne Green

S. Jeanne Green, 93, of Altoona, passed away Friday at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Donato and Sara (Fusco) Gioiosa. On December 9, 1950 she married Louis E. Green and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2013.

She is survived by her two daughters: Trudy Morning and Lou Ann Green, both of Altoona; two sons: Terry Green, of Altoona and Daniel (Susan) Green, of Hollidaysburg; 3 grandchildren: Terry (Tressella), Danny (fiancee Leah), and Randy (fiancee Shanda); and four great-grandchildren: Koty, Kyle, Max, and Shoshanna. Jeanne is also survived by two special friends from the Altoona Center, George and Gary.

Jeanne was the last surviving sibling of 9 children. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Patrick Green. Jeanne was a former district manager for Sarah Coventry Jewelry and was one of the original co-founders and original chair person of the Domestic Abuse Project. She also helped establish the Shelter of Blair County and served on the PA Human Relations Commission.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Wherever Jeanne found herself, it was her stage.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 23 from 9:30AM–11AM at the Santella Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 11AM at the funeral home. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
