Joanne E. ‘Chic’ Brown, 87, of Altoona, went home to be with God on Sunday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Servello) Ciccarella.
Joanne married Kaye H. Brown in February 1954, and he passed away Sept. 6, 2020.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonne Kay Eger (Stephen); and granddaughter, Julia Joy Eger. Also surviving is a sister, Anna Priel (Junior); brothers, Donald and Richard Ciccarella (Linda); and several nieces and nephews.
Joanne was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Gray (Tom) and Rosanne Shinn.
Joanne was a graduate of Altoona Central Catholic School. She retired with over 40 years’ service from Butterick Co. Inc. and Vogue Pattern Co. and considered her fellow workers a second family. Joanne also worked at her father’s store called Chic’s and for the May Co. in Ohio.
Joanne was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Joanne enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her “Little Angel,” granddaughter Julia. She was a great conversationalist who also enjoyed helping others and house cleaning.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Santella Funeral Home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal at Calvary Cemetery.
