Joanne K. Ryan

Joanne K. Ryan, 93, Altoona, passed away Friday at Maybrook Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Slick) Haigh. She later married Leroy Ryan and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by 5 children: Dawn Johnson, of South Carolina, Michelle Nail, of Altoona, Patricia Huffman, of Ohio, Joan Robinson, of Maryland, and David Ryan, of Altoona; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Clara Basom and Jan Bierwith.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.

Joanne was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School and worked as a sales clerk in the Deli department at Bi-Lo Food Store.

Friends will be received from 1pm until the 2:30pm funeral home service on Saturday, January 4, 2025 in the Santella Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
