John P. Alamprese

John P. Alamprese, 76, Altoona, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John J. and Helen (Maggiore) Alamprese.

He is survived by his sister, Rose Marie, and husband, William G. Vincent; a niece, Jacquelynn R. Vincent; a nephew, Samuel W. Vincent; and many cousins.

John was a self-employed gig musician.

He also served 4 years in the Army before being honorably discharged.

He played several instruments and enjoyed music and singing. He sang his first solo in his first grade Christmas program. His uncle mentored him to play guitar at a young age and he went on to mentor other musicians. He also composed many musical pieces.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Family Pizza and Pub on Wednesday, Oct. 18th from 6pm to 9pm. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
