Joseph A. Heath, 49, Altoona, passed away Tuesday as a result of an automobile accident involving a tractor trailer.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Shirley M. Heath and William Trostle.
He is survived by his fiance, Julie Fisher; two daughters: Mackenzie and Taylor Heath, both of Jacksonville Fl.; a sister, Daryle (Bill) Kuny; a brother, Greg (Shirley) Heath, both of Altoona; two nieces, Angie (Tom) Maurer, of Hollidaysburg and Daniele Kuny, of Altoona; a nephew, Anthony (Ally) Kuny, of Sterling Va.; a great-niece, Katelyn Servello, of Tyrone; a great-nephew, Dustin Servello, of Ohio; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Heath.
Joe was a 1989 graduate of Altoona Area High School. After graduation, Joe enlisted in the US Navy as an Airborne Electronic Warfare Operator. He was honorably discharged in 1995 and worked as a correctional officer at SCI Cresson until 2005, when he moved to Jacksonville, Fl. In 2011, Joe moved back to Altoona and worked as an electrician for Norfolk Southern Railway until being furloughed in 2019. He then worked for PMG in Philipsburg until his death.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
