Dr. Joseph F. Tate, 72, Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Belluomo) Tate.
He is survived by three children: Stephanie (Adam) Sherlock, Joseph Tate and Jonathan (Stacie) Tate; and two grandchildren: Lucas and Hailey.
Joseph was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and Tom Yacobucci.
Joseph was a 1967 Altoona High School graduate, a 1970 Penn State University graduate, with a degree in Zoology, and a 1975 graduate from Temple Dental School. He ran a private dental practice in Altoona and Saxton, PA.
He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during Vietnam.
He was a member of the American Dental Association.
He enjoyed his time as a Boy Scout. One of his proudest moments was seeing his son, Joe, become an Eagle Scout. Joseph was a proud Penn State fan and enjoyed watching Penn State football.
Friends will be received from 2pm to 4pm Sunday, March 20, 2022 in the Santella Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held following the visitation at 4pm.
