Joyce M. (Long) Markel

Joyce M. Markel, 56, Duncansville, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday at her home. She was born in Johnstown, daughter of David Long Sr. and Donna (Long) Thurston. She later married William L. Markel.

She is survived by her loving husband, William, of Duncansville; a sister, Renee (Donald) Gray, of Bedford; a brother, David (Michelle) Long Jr., of Virginia Beach, Va; her parents; a niece Krysden; great-niece, Jocelyn; great-nephews: Ronnie and Oliver; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joyce was preceded in death by a niece, Alia.

Joyce worked as an office assistant for Primary Health Network in Altoona.

She enjoyed crocheting, playing games on the computer, time with her cats, collecting gnomes, craft shows, and spending time with family and friends.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or services. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
