Judith Ann (Dougherty) Waters

Judith Ann (Dougherty) Waters, age 82, passed away on April 03, 2024. She was born February 26, 1942 in Ashville, PA and raised by her grandmother Agnes “Goldie” Dougherty. Judy is survived by her two sons: Norman (Cassandra) and Nelson (Vilista); five grandchildren: Madison Holly (John), Nolan Waters, Cate Waters, Chayton Waters and Elela Waters; an uncle, Tom Dougherty of NY; half-sister Patsy Harrington; and two special cousins, Jane Gray and Dana Shade. She was preceded in death by aunts: Anne Marie Blott, Rose Purdy, Rita Dougherty, Theresa Kennedy, Joan Broadrick, Norma Clapper, Ruth Pasquino, and Mary Shade; and uncles: John Dougherty, Felix Dougherty, and Joe Dougherty.

Judy was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and a long-time volunteer of UPMC Altoona. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and helping with family gatherings. Her favorite hobbies were putting puzzles together, knitting, and embroidering. Judy enjoyed the seashore and loved visiting Seaside Home in Cape May, NJ every summer.

Friends and family will be received for viewing from 6pm to 8pm Friday, April 5th 2024 with a vigil for the deceased, and again from 9am to 9:45am Saturday, April 6th at the Santella Funeral Home, 1106 Eighth Ave, Altoona PA 16602. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, April 6th 2024 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 806 11th St, Altoona, PA, 16602.
