Katherine G. “Kay” Roscia, 103, Altoona, passed away Thursday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Patsy and Rose (Tomeo) Bellacero.
On Oct. 21, 1944, she married Frank Roscia who preceded her in death on June 24, 2025.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Bell of Altoona and Roseann (Tim) Madden of Hollidaysburg; a son, Peter (Yamila) Roscia of Miami Lakes, Fla.; 10 grandchildren: Cindy (Brian) Murphy, David (Lori) Bell Jr., Lori (Ron) Benton, Lisa Thomas, Ron Roscia, Ryan Roscia, Michael Roscia, Dr. Nicholas Madden, Andy (Sandy) Madden and Chris Madden; four great-grandchildren: Matthew (Ashley) Murphy, Jessica (Zach) Murphy, Tyler (Sarah) Miller and Shane Thomas; five great-great-grandchildren: Brayden, Avalynn and Braxton Lauritsen, Everett David Murphy and Mackenzie Weimer; and several nieces and nephews.
Kay was the last member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by five brothers: Patsy, Joseph, Samuel, Tony and Mark Bellacero; a son-in-law, David Bell; a great-grandson, Hudson Roscia; and a great-great-granddaughter, Jacelynn Lauritsen.
Kay was a 1942 Altoona High School graduate. She retired from Monarch Clothing Store.
Kay was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Altoona.
She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Holy Name Society, Friends of the Irish and Pinochle Club for 60 years.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
