Kaye H. Brown, 86, of Altoona, went to be with the Lord on Sunday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona on Oct. 31, 1933, son of the late William Ralph and Nellie (Tate) Brown. Kaye married Joanne Ciccarella on Feb. 20, 1954.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne, of 66 years; a daughter, Bonnie Eger; son-in-law, Stephen Eger; a granddaughter, Julia Joy Eger; and two sisters: Joyce Verillo and Doris Wantz.
Kaye was preceded in death by five sisters: Sarah Stout, Patricia Mirabella, Ardis Fluke, Gloria Sopata, and Audrey Walton; and a brother, Wilson Brown.
Kaye attended school in the Altoona Area School District and graduated from Altoona Area High School.
“Brownie” retired as a plate maker from the Butterick and Vogue Pattern Company. He has previously been employed by the Veeder-Root Company.
Kaye enjoyed the garden, sunshine, and his cars. He loved spending time with his family, especially Pap’s pride and joy, Julia.
Mr. Brown was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 4-7pm, Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 in the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held, and also from 9:30am until the 10:30am funeral Mass, Saturday Sept. 12, 2020 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
