Linda Blackie Obituary

Linda E. Blackie, 74, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Dan and Mary (Petta) Sinisi. She married Denny E. Blackie and he preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 2005.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Blackie; sister in law, Nancy Sinesi; nieces and nephews: Vicki, Randy, and Donald Sinisi, Tim and Thomas Shuda; and several other nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Sinisi and two sisters: Lillian Shuda and Angie Mannello.

Linda was a Bishop Guilfoyle High School and Prontos Hair Salon graduate. She owned and operated Whisperwind Kennels and Doggie Depot.

She enjoyed hair styling, but her loves in life were her dogs. She was the 1991 Westminster “Best In Show” Champion, a founding member of the Altoona Area Kennel Club, a lifetime member of the Greater Pittsburgh Poodle Club, and a member of the Poodle Club of America.

Linda was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church.

A Memorial Mass and celebration of life service will be held at 10am Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
