Linda George Obituary

Linda M. George, 69, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona after a courageous battle with COVID 19. Linda was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert and Shirley Ruggery. On October 25, 2003, she married Gene George.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gene; her children: Missy (Jim) Young, Bobby Graziosi, Bobbi Grove Nickum, Gina (DeWayne) Fogal, and Steve George; 3 siblings: Butch “the bug man” (Carol) Ruggery, Ricky Ruggery, and Denny (Diane) Ruggery; 8 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Max Burgmeier, Ali Graziosi, Calee Fogal, Alisa, Julie, Kylie, Josh, and Sophia George; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that were so special to her.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Ruggery; and Bob Graziosi, father of her children.

She grew up in Juniata and was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School, where she was a skilled majorette. Linda was prideful of her accomplishments as a junior champion roller-skater and an avid racquetball player.

She was employed by the Butterick Corporation for 33 years.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, cooking family meals, dancing, trips to the beach, fishing trips, and being at all of her grandchildren’s sporting events. She especially enjoyed her time spent at the little league field cheering on her grandson Max and of the other players. She will be deeply missed.

A private visitation will be held at the convenience of the family. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am, Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
