Margaret T. Hufford, 94, Duncansville, passed away Wednesday at Celebration Villa, Duncansville, PA. She was born in Altoona, December 16, 1927 to Michael and Mary (Pellegrino) Sicola. On May 20,1950,she married John W. Hufford, who died October 16,1996.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Jacquelyn (Dennis) Meyers, of Altoona, and grandchildren, Meghan (Anthony) Miniello of Virginia, and Brent of Altoona. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Marlene Sicola Dell, and Gary (Mary) Sicola, both of Altoona, Michael Sicola of Vienna, Virginia, Bonnie (Sicola) Walters of Dillsburg, Thomas (Judy) Esposito of Pittsburgh, Pamela Esposito and Joseph (Sallie) Esposito, both of Ft. Lauderdale,Florida, Richard (Leslie) Stroud of Ellicott City, Maryland, and David Stroud of Los Angeles, California. Another niece, Deborah Wilson, died in February 2017. Also surviving are 15 great nieces and nephews, and 18 great-great nieces and nephews.
Margaret graduated from Altoona High School in 1945, and retired from the Butterick company after 40+ years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, and playing card games of all kinds.
The last surviving member of her family, she was preceded in death by brothers Frank, Alfred, and Enrico, and sisters Olinda Sicola, Elsie Esposito, and Rosemarie Stroud.
Friends will be received from 1-5pm Monday April 11, 2022 at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Committal will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
