Marianne Caracciolo Obituary

Marianne (Figliorenzo) Caracciolo 83, of Flinton, PA, passed away Feb. 26, 2023 at her home in Weeki Wachee, Florida surrounded by her family and close friends. A native of Altoona, PA, Marianne was born April 9, 1939 to the late Catherine (Stefanini) and Raymond Figliorenzo. Marianne, and her late husband Richard (Dick), were a pillar of the community surrounding Glendale Lake near Patton, PA. They started and owned several businesses around the lake such as The Pirate's Cove restaurant, now owned by Dana Simanski; The Captain's Quarters, now owned by her son-in-law Robert DeVore; Glendale Boat Sales, Inc., now owned by her son Steven Caracciolo; and they managed the boat rentals at Prince Gallitzin Marina, now managed by her daughter Cathy Caracciolo.

After her husband Richard's (Dick) death in January 2011, Marianne continued as a strong presence in the community by assisting with the rentals at Prince Gallitzin Marina and offering help where needed with the other businesses as well. She was our errand lady when we needed her!

The day she got her little dog "Baby" was one of her happiest days. Baby was her comfort and her joy and kept her from feeling alone after Dick died.

Marianne was loved and respected by all who knew her and was known as one of the last "true ladies" on the mountain. With her perfectly coiffed hair, manicured nails, to her coordinated outfits, shoes and purses..."classy" is what came to mind.

Marianne loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of her heart, but if someone mentioned a game of poker, she was all in...and she didn't care who you were, how old you were, or how you were related...she was out to WIN...she showed no Mercy!

In addition to her parents, Marianne is preceded in death by her sister Tonya (Figliorenzo) Banholzer, her husband Richard Caracciolo, and her daughter Annette (Caracciolo) De Vore.

She is survived by her son, Steven, and his wife Tammy (Watt) Caracciolo, of Dysart, PA, her son-in-law, Robert DeVore, of Patton, PA and her daughter, Cathy Caracciolo, and her husband Dave Hollen of Fallentimber, PA.; her 6 grandchildren: Matthew A. Caracciolo, Blake and Carly (Lapp) Caracciolo, Cody and Alyssa (Proctor) Caracciolo, Heather DeVore, Tiffany DeVore and Tyler Hollen, and her 8 great-grandchildren: Evan, Ethan, Serenity, Dominick, Sophia, Triton, Mavis Caracciolo and Gavin Marra.

She touched so many lives and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received from 12pm to 7pm Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Santella Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 7pm with Pastor Joseph Hollen officiating. Interment will be at St. Augustine Cemetery.
