Marie Elizabeth (Pietrolungo) Zsifkov, 90, Altoona, passed away peacefully Thursday at the home of her son, Scott, with whom she resided. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (DelBiondo) Pietrolungo.
Marie was married to the late Anthony Zsifkov, who preceded her in death on March 9, 2009. They celebrated almost 60 years together.
She is survived by a son, Scott (Vikki); and a daughter, Michelle; seven grandchildren: Brittany, Zachary, Chelsea, Mark, Ryan, Christopher and Alex; eight great-grandchildren: Logan, Lincoln, Reed, Izabella, Gabriella, Savannah, Brody and Ella Marie; a daughter in law, Angie Fisher; a sister in law, Eva Zsifkov; and many nieces and nephews, including: Carol, Gloria, Nancy, Marlene and Terri, among others.
Marie was preceded in death by a son, Mark; a sister, Angie; and six brothers: Albert, Orville, Anthony, Herman, Arthur and Vincent.
She was employed by Meyer Jonasson for 23 years as an accessory buyer and loved her job.
Marie was an accomplished artist. It has been her passion for many years. She was so pleased that her paintings are hanging in many homes. She was devoted to her family first. They all brought her such happiness and joy and she always felt blessed to have them.
She enjoyed spending time at the ocean.
A private viewing will be held at the convenience of the family. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation (family only) as she wished for her friends to remember her from when they last talked. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
