Marjorie R. Mowery, 98, Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday at Garvey Manor. She was born in Glendale, daughter of the late Frank and Harriet (Hill) Gates.
She is survived by three children: Robert W. (Anna) Mowery Jr, of Tishomingo, Okla., Suzanne Carter, of Altoona, and David Lee (fiance, Sue) Mowery, of Altoona ; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and life-long friend, Elfreta Ellis.
Marjorie was preceded in death by a son, John Mowery.
Marjorie was a 1943 graduate of Coalport-Irvona High School. She worked for Gables Department Store, Masons, and Dorman’s Jewelry.
She enjoyed gardening, writing poetry, and reading.
Marjorie was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Altoona. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
