Mary Ann Campanaro, 84, Altoona, passed away from Alzheimer’s disease Wednesday at Celebration Villa, in Duncansville. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Patsy A. Campanaro and Louise (Auman) Miller.
She is survived by her brother, Patsy Campanaro, of Virginia; her nieces: Michele Konitsky (Andrew), Stacy McIntyre, and Jamie Hershey (Jeffrey); several great nieces and nephews; as well as great-great nieces.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by two sisters: Judith D. Anderson and Patricia L. Kling; and her favorite furry side kick, Fluffy.
She attended Altoona High School until she moved to Philadelphia to be with her mother. She graduated from Kensington High School in Philadelphia in 1957. She worked as a legal secretary for Attorney Harold Miller and retired from the department of public welfare in 2014.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching classic movies and comedy shows. She was an avid reader and donated to various foundations that helped children and animals.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Friends will be received from 5-7 pm Sunday, May 5, 2024 in the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Monday, May 6, 2024 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
