Mary Netreba

Mary (Fornbacher) Netreba, 66, of North Carolina, passed away on June 7, 2022 at UPMC, Bedford. She was born on January 11, 1956 in Altoona to parents Edward J. Fornbacher and Reeda (Stehley) Fornbacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Donald, sister Ardale Shannon, and brothers Edward C. and Ernest. Surviving are her husband Jules Netreba, sister Mona (Kenneth) Streilein of Duncansville, and brother Gregory Fornbacher of Canoe Creek. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Cathy Fornbacher, many nieces, nephews, and cousins including special cousin Bob Kutz.

Mary was born in Altoona and was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. She was a woman of many talents. In her younger days she was a dance instructor, body builder, and aerobics instructor. She then went on to become a bank teller, real estate agent, insurance agent, and eventually a published author. She was passionate about all of her endeavors and approached them all with her full attention. She doted on and loved her fur babies.

Arrangements will be made by Santella Funeral Home, 1106 8th Avenue, Altoona, Pa. There will be no viewing. A celebration of life for Mary will be scheduled at a later date at the convenience of the family.
