Mary Jane Kitt, 97, Altoona, passed away Sunday surrounded by her loving family at her home.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Antonio “Anthony” and Alessandina (Prata) Zangrilli. She married Bernard E. Kitt and he preceded her in death in 1959.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie (Kitt) Schorner (Matt Rancourt); a son, Bernard E. Kitt Jr. and wife, MJ Coon-Kitt; a sister, Anna Mae (Zangrilli) Hepner; a brother, Andrew Zangrilli; a son-in-law, Jack White; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara (Kitt) White; a sister, Lucy (Zangrilli) Burns; and 5 brothers: Ralph, John, Henry, James, Joseph Zangrilli.
Mary Jane retired from the jewelry department at JCPenney, after 28 years of service.
She enjoyed bowling and dancing. She was a member of the Gold Nuggets, Horseshoe Seniors and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary Jane was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Friends will be received from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 in the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12pm on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
