Michael A. “Mickey” Caputo, 87, Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Daniel Caputo and Nancy (Amedo). He married the love of his life, Barbara Beatty, whom he has shared a loving marriage for 68 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Barb; two sons: Michael Caputo and Mark (Cindy) Caputo; a daughter, Carrie (Barton) Bullock; 5 grandchildren: Mackenzie Bullock, Ryan (Stacy) Caputo. Shannon (Vito) Recchia, Gianna Caputo and Nicole Caputo; and 4 great-grandchildren: Luca, Declan, Giovanni and Vivianna.
Michael was preceded in death by an infant sister, Cynthia.
Michael was a graduate of Altoona High School and later retired from the railroad as a machinist welder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycles. He also loved to golf at Slyvan Hills and Park Hills golf courses.
A private visitation and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
