Nannie E. Chathams

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Willard and Nannie (Johnson) Bollinger. She was married to the late Frank W. Chathams Sr.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra (James) McDermott of Altoona; two sons: Frank W. Jr. (Phyllis) of Ashville and John (Sue) of Flinton; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Nannie was a 1938 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from the Altoona Map Co. as a cartography clerk, and she had also previously worked for the Altoona Hospital Dietary Department and for Boyer Candy. She was a member of Wehnwood United Methodist Church.

Nannie enjoyed doing crafts and going camping, and she loved the woods and wildlife. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona, the Rev. Evelyn Madison officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
