Palmina M. Reading, 87, Altoona, known affectionately as “Pam” to family and friends, passed away Sunday at Embassy of Hillsdale Park.
She was born in Lewistown, daughter of the late Basil W. and Josephine M. (Magaraci) Mannino. She married Frederick W. Reading and he preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2014.
Pam is survived by three sons: Michael D. Reading (wife Ellen), Christopher M. Reading (partner Claire Cleveland), and Frederick W. Reading, Jr. (wife Lisa); two grandchildren: Alexander C. Reading and Austin M. Reading, who were the joys of her life; two sisters: Lenora Haider and Josephine Formille; a brother: Basil W. Mannino, Jr. (wife Donna); two nephews; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred and a sister, Pauline McGarvey.
Pam was a Tyrone Area High School graduate.
She enjoyed gardening, furniture restoration and refinishing, doll and antique collecting and was extremely close to her family.
At the request of the deceased, no public viewing will be held. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
