Pat’s beautiful spirit went to Heaven on Thursday, August 20th at 7:45 p.m. Born in Altoona on March 11, 1928, she was the only daughter of the late Richard and Auddress (Pennington) Conlon.
Pat leaves two daughters and one son to cherish her memory: Vickie Frederick and husband, Dave, and Mary Pat Behe, all of Altoona, and Thomas P. Harshbarger of Seattle; four grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Lisa Gladfelter and husband, Shane, Todd Frederick and wife, Maggie, Audry Behe and Haydn Behe; seven great grandchildren, Maggie, Ella, Sophia and Nora Gladfelter, Izaak and Layne Behe, and Kaydn Frndak. She is also survived by an extended and much-loved family of nieces, nephew, cousins and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, who died in infancy, Jerry (Joe) Conlon, Tom Conlon and John Conlon.
Pat was a 1946 graduate of ACHS. She worked at Bell Telephone and retired from the Unemployment Office and also from the State Correctional Institutions. After retirement she worked part time as the Volunteer Director at Garvey Manor. She also volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul food bank and at the Railroader’s Museum.
Pat was very proud of her Irish heritage and had accumulated a vast history of genealogy. She was an avid reader and was very interested in WWII. She enjoyed telling a wide variety of amazing, true stories of her family life. She made the best pizelles, always had a jigsaw puzzle on her table and loved playing BINGO with her Station Square apartment friends. She had resided there for twenty one years before moving to Garvey Manor five months ago.
Please join us for a graveside service celebrating Pat’s life on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery. Father Allen Zeth will be officiating. Arrangements by Santella Funeral Home.
