Ralph J. Schiappa

Ralph J. Schiappa, 88, Altoona, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John and Antoinette (Dibello) Schiappa.

On Oct. 3, 1964, he married Jean L. Bracciale at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years; two nephews, Frank and Tommy Spallone; a niece, Tina Schiappa; and a sister-in-law, Pearl Schiappa. 

Ralph was the last surviving relative of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Schiappa and a sister, Julia Spallone. 

Ralph served in the United States Army and later retired from Butterick Co. Inc. 

He loved Notre Dame Football and the LA Dodgers. In his younger years, he played softball for the Butterick League and enjoyed playing the drums. 

At the request of the deceased, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
