Richard J. Peo

Richard J. Peo, 74, Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Carmosino). 

He is survived by two sons: Richard (Dana) Peo and Nicholas Peo; 3 grandchildren: Rylee, Greyson and Dominic; two sisters: JoAnn Peo and Ann Marie (Tom) Hetrick; and his partner, Rita Ash.

Richard worked as a Certified Public Accountant up until his passing. For 4 years he was Altoona City Treasurer and the Blair County Controller for numerous years. 

Richard was a worker his whole life, but always spent his spare time with his grandchildren.

He was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, where he served as a reader.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023 in the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A private funeral Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
