Richard E. "Rick" Young

Richard “Rick” E. Young II, 38, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at his home, after a battle with cancer. He was born in Altoona, son of Deana Eckenrode.

He is survived by two sons, Jharell Young and Zach Ritchey; three “stepdaughters,” whom he called his own: Kayeleena, Jazlyn and Leauna Lauver; fiancee, Cora Tyler; brother, Robert (Lynda) Young; best friend, Tammara Baker; nephews, Josh Mason and Colton Young; and niece, Emily Young.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Young; paternal grandmother and grandfather, Jaqueline Smith and “Pappy Smitty.”

Rick was a 2005 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Street Glide, playing pool and working on vehicles. He had a large love for his country.

At the request of the deceased, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
